Saving Faith

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: {9} Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

The Bible is crystal clear that salvation is by the grace of God. It is not the product of any religious works or observances, or earned through good deeds or charitable contributions. It is neither earned nor lost through personal morality. Salvation is by God’s amazing grace alone. If you are not saved by grace, you are not saved at all.

The question then becomes, “How do we receive this grace? How do we receive the gift of God?” Many religious groups say that God’s grace is received through baptism, or sacraments and other religious observance, and personal moral maintenance (in other words, do what our church says or else). Such groups divert the sinner’s faith to one of these supposed “means of grace.”

However, the only object of true saving faith is THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. Faith in Christ alone – plus nothing, and minus nothing – brings saving grace. This message, preached Sunday morning, June 3, 2012, is a simple, straightforward explanation concerning SAVING FAITH.    Download MP3.  Or, Listen Now.
