Mrs Raz and I recently returned from a ten-day trip to Israel, hosted by Dr. Bryan Sharp. There were 35 in our group, mostly preachers and their wives. It was a tremendous trip. If you ever have the opportunity to go with Bryan Sharp, you will not regret it. You will see the sites and enjoy some things that are definitely not on the typical tourist agenda. We went throughout the land of Israel and into the kingdom of Jordan. We witnessed the power of music as we sang throughout the land, to the delight of many Jews, who then willingly received our business cards.
I am thankful for our church family, who presented this trip to us as a tenth anniversary present. I am also thankful to Bro. Sharp for all of his hard work and leadership. And it was a joy to make some new friends on the trip.
Below is a 15 minute video of highlights from our trip. Below that are some separate videos of our group singing and preaching.
This video was made at the amphitheater in the ruins of Bethshan in Israel.
Our tour group ran into a group of Israelis at Timnah in the Negev desert. We sang for them, which opened their hearts to an impromptu message from Dr. Sharp. Watch the response of the Israelis to our song and to his words. Afterwards, several asked us for more information.
Singing “It is well with my soul” in St. Anne’s, a Byzantine cathedral in Jerusalem. Note the response of a church group from North Carolina in the back. Also, the group in the pews were sitting when we started. By the end, they were all standing and many were recording us with phones and cameras.
