It was our privilege to have retired pastor Lonnie Mattingly as our guest preacher this week at LBC. On Sunday we celebrated our 12th anniversary as a church and began a revival that continued through Wednesday night. We praise the Lord for a good week of great Bible preaching! We had good attendance in each service and the Lord did a work in our hearts.

For 37 years, Bro. Mattingly pastored the Shawnee Baptist Church of Louisville, KY. Under his leadership, the church grew from 60 to 1200 with a high day of 3600. They started a Christian school, summer camp, and Bible college (Shawnee Baptist College). Bro. Mattingly is a great personal soulwinner and he was used of God to build a great soulwinning church, even in the inner city of Louisville.

Our church greatly enjoyed Bro. Mattingly’s preaching, and I personally enjoyed the time that we were able to spend together. Bro. Mattingly is humble and down-to-earth, easy to talk to, and full of wisdom. My wife greatly enjoyed spending time with Mrs. Mattingly as well.

I would like to encourage my preacher brethren – especially younger men – to contact Bro. Mattingly through his website and see about scheduling a revival or conference with this greatly used man of God. He preaches in churches great and small. You and your church will benefit greatly from his preaching and definite love for people. In fact, we have already rescheduled him for September 2013.
