After the cross, the disciples were traumatized. Their hearts were broken, their faith shaken, their dreams shattered, their purposes gone. Most huddled behind a locked door in the upper room; Thomas began to wander away, and was not there when the Lord appeared; Peter was about to return to the fishing business and take half the apostles with him. Yet, fifty days later these same men were standing boldly on Pentecost, filled with the Holy Spirit, preaching in mighty power, and seeing 3000 people saved, baptized and added to the church.
What made the difference? Pentecost? Yes. Ten days of prayer? Yes. But before that was forty days with Jesus Christ. He regathered His church, strengthened their faith, sought out His lost shepherds, Peter and Thomas, and restored them. This message, preached the Sunday after Easter, April 15, 2012, discusses six things that were taking place during the forty day time frame FROM THE TOMB TO THE THRONE. Download MP3. Listen Now.
